Public commission, Klostergarasjen (parking garage), 2005

The embellishment is a gift to Klostergarasjen AS from Veidekke entreprenør (the contractor).
Art consultant: Turid Uldal, Regionalt samarbeidsutvalg (RSU) Plexiglas and GlasMa: Harald Goksøyr SiO2 AS Press mention: Bergens Tidende 04.11.05

The artwork consists of 12 ellipses and one circle, 3 of aluminium and 10 of plexiglas, with motives of GlasMa-colours. The ellipses are strained in thin wires, but apart from that, they float in the open space. The work is placed in connection to the output and to passages to parking meters and elevators. It can be experienced in different ways by the output of each parking plane. The motives are adaptations of photographic materials from the parking garage - from the construction the way it is now, and from stages earlier on in the building process. You'll also find traces of - and details of machines. A barefooted human being is present in some of the forms, orientated "on its way out" of the motive that it's been placed into. The large parking garage lays, on it's deepest, 13 floors under the ground. The awareness of this can create fascination as well as a certain anguish.
